Website vs Android App – Which is Better?
Published: February 8, 2025
There's No Single Answer
Both websites and apps are useful – but for different situations. The right choice depends on your business type, audience, budget, and goals.
Websites – Pros and Cons
Pros: Works on all devices (phone, tablet, laptop). Cheaper to build and maintain. No app store approval. Customers find you through Google. Easy to update.
Cons: Doesn't send push notifications. Less "always there" feel. Some features (like offline use) are limited.
Android Apps – Pros and Cons
Pros: Lives on the user's phone. Push notifications. Can work offline. Often faster for repeat actions like ordering or booking.
Cons: Costlier to build. Needs Play Store listing and updates. Only works on Android (iPhone needs a separate app).
Simple Rule of Thumb
Need to share info, show your work, or get inquiries? → Website first.
Need customers to order, book, or interact frequently from their phone? → App might be worth it.
You Can Have Both
Many businesses start with a website. When they grow and see clear need for faster access or notifications, they add an app. Starting with one doesn't lock you out of the other.
